Flip charts collected from different company trainings, 70 x90 cm
(shown in different combination and number)

“Flip Charts” consists of flip charts from actual company trainings in the Netherlands and Switzerland that I have collected since 2010. “Flip Charts” points out the representation of desired and undesired behavior, which are categorized and taught through a series of systematised encounters such as receiving feedback, making a sale, or saying goodbye.  The participants of the training are led to believe that they can learn how to control and manipulate those encounters and their own behavior. These training exclusively aim to improve workplace productivity, yet the workforce carries these lessons even further into the private and political sphere. As the corporate world increasingly demands engagement from the employee as a whole person, criticality from subjects towards the system becomes increasingly difficult.
